  Going to add a letter I wrote to the pastor that has gone unanswered since last year sometime.
  
  I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my disdain for the billboard you have set up near I-71. It is upsetting to see such intolerance still alive and well in a country such as ours in this day and age. While I am a firm believer in the first amendment and all that it implies, I have a hard time being accepting of hate speech (which your billboard undeniably is
  ).
  
  Generally, adults should be able to discern between hateful opinion and reality, but the problem begins when adolescents see a message like this -- especially gay adolescents. It can give a person the idea that there is something wrong with them at a very fragile time in their lives, when "fitting in" is very important. Anything that promotes the unnecessary suffering of my fellow human beings I cannot abide. Nothing good can come from preaching intolerance in general, but this is especially true when dealing with young and susceptible minds.
  
  Imagine your reaction to a billboard decrying women's suffrage or speaking out against integrated schools; how archaic and offensive that would (or should) appear to you.
  
  I do not expect anything to come of this email, but it does give me some solace knowing that I spoke my mind. Thank you for reading this, and I sincerely hope you come to your senses.

  As someone who was raised in the church, the grandson of a pastor, and the son of two diligent local church workers, I'm appalled that Pastor Greg Davis would allow the names and reputations of the members of his congregation to be besmirched and the Gospel degraded by raising such a garish and antagonistic billboard on I-71. Have they forgotten...
  Matthew 5:46 "For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have?"
  Philippians 2:3-11 "Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
  We should expect more from people who call themselves followers of Christ.

  Friendly church. People love the Lord and each other! Services are full of worship and my kids love it here with all their friends. I'm so thankful for all their teachers who love them and take the time for them!

  I already volunteered in another church in the area, but visited Southwest Baptist a few times. The Pastor is very kind and personable. He is a humble individual that has a love for all people, although many have misconstrued his motives in putting up the sign he did. If you want to hear his own explanation, do what I did and go to the church's website and listen to the a message in their media archives where he tells why they put it up a second time. It's dated Feb 10, 2013.
  
  I now live in Budapest and have gone back to their media archives several times to download sermons. If you're unsure what type of church and pastor this is, I highly recommend listening to his full message about the sign, and any other sermons you'd like to.
